| My Story - How I ended up here (Part 1):
A lot of people I talk to ask me how I got into this activy, how long I've been
doing it and of course the big one how am I doing in it.
It's actually a fairly long story but I'll try to make it brief for your sake, :).
It all started around January of 2007. While running my internet promotion/advertising
business in which I run solo ezine ads for customers, I ran across a few ads for a
particular activity that caught my eye.
In the entire previous 11 years of running this business I had never got into any
of the many opportunities that I saw across my desk and sent out ads our for .
Not one ever. This one just got my attention and to make things brief I decided
to give it a try.
I won't divulge the name because it isn't my intention to belittle any other activity
here. Let's just say that in this particular activity you could join at the
following levels: $1,000, $5,000 and $12,000 at the time. They have since
dropped the $1,000 level. I jumped right in, wanted to go bigtime and joined at
the 5k level. Which was basically $6,500.
I got right to it, started doing ads, mailed out 1000+ postcards, all kinds of
things. I spent thousands over the next couple of months. Wow was I disappointed...
I did get a couple of people to join me at the $1,000 level but that was it. I
hadn't even broke even, not even close.
I had enough but decided to give it a fair shake and not quit so easy. I poured
thousands into more advertising throughout the month of February and decided to
just pound out the entire month, give it my all and see what happened. The end
of the month rolled along and zippo, got one or two people to join, but didn't
even come close to breaking even.
To make a long story short I basically ended up in the hole about $8,000 - $10,000. I
decided to call it quits and chalk it up as a lesson learned.
Don't make the same mistake I did. In my next part I'll tell you where I went
from here, because obviously it just doesn't end there. There is a couple more
parts to the story and I'll give you the next part in my next email.
